If you have climbed a rock (or ice?) route in Kenya that you believe has never been done, please describe it in detail for us. Include date of first ascent; grade; whether it is free or aided; any bolts pegs or anchors; name of climber(s); name of the route. Photos should be sent to the club and referenced.

I am planning a trip to Kenya very soon, I was wondering whether there are any recorded routes in the Mt Elgon region. If so are there any guides/ information about them? Could you reccommend any other areas to explore new potential routes?

Hi Peter, I know it is too late for a reply but friends from Laisamis last december told me about climbers that attempted to mt. Elgon in the past years. I am also interested about climbing routes and attempts in the northern region. How was finally your trip?

Have started posting some stuff on www.rockclimbing.com for climbs in Western. Will start sending it through you first, just to verify the FA. Some good, short crack climbs and a bunch of great bouldering out here around Bungoma and Kisumu. Happy to show anyone around who happens to be out here.
