Hey all! I am new to this site, but am very interested in climbing Mt. Kenya. I live close to Loitoktok (on the border with TZ and the foothills of Kilimanjaro) and work for a US study abroad organization called School for Field Studies. I am very busy during the semesters, but have a long break over the holidays. I am keen on climbing Mt. Kenya in the middle of January. I would really appreciate some insight and advice on which route to take, who to go with and if anyone else is interested. I have not hiked around her before, but it always been my dream to climb Mt. Kenya (and then Kili). Any advice on sites, companies or people to contact, please let me know. Also, any advice on the route? I would like to climb Nelion and Batian peaks, but also realize that these are very technically demanding. Any insight on those would be helpful. Look forward to learning more. Happy November!
Anyone interested in climbing the mountain from Jan. 18th-24th 2012? I may have one friend joining, but more the merrier! Let me know! Also, probably not a technical climb, but around 6-7 days and up to Pt. Lenana.
