If you are planning not to use any of the three popular routes (Naro Moru, Sirimon, Chogoria), inform the KWS rangers of your intentions at either of the three manned.park gates when you arrive and get them approved BEFORE you ascend the mountain. Stick as far as possible to your itinerary but for any change of descent only use Naro Moru, Sirimon or Chogoria and NOT an unofficial route. Park Fees are only payable at these gates.You MUST leave your itinerary with the authorities. It is MANDATORY that park fees be paid, visitor status proved, route/itinerary cleared PRIOR to the event. Park Fees cannot be paid in advance at the KWS headquaters in Nairobi.
